Thank you for choosing Pro Bat Solutions. Bat exclusion is a process, and there are a few things you may notice or need to keep in mind after your home has been professionally bat-proofed.
Bats that were already roosting inside the structure need time to locate and exit through the exclusion devices. Please allow at least 10 days for bats to fully exit the structure. Weather conditions and outdoor temperatures can affect bat activity, and cooler temperatures may extend the amount of time needed for all bats to leave. Bat activity during this period does not necessarily indicate a problem with the exclusion.
Exclusion devices may remain in place after bats have exited. Device removal is not included in the standard bat-proofing estimate. If you would like the devices removed, ask our crew about it during service. We can provide a price after seeing the number, location, height, and accessibility of the installed devices.
Bat-proofing is intended to prevent bats from entering the living space, attic, walls, and other accessible areas of the structure covered by the service. It does not prevent bats from temporarily roosting on the exterior of the home. Bats may occasionally rest behind shutters, near downspouts, under covered porches, entryways, or in other protected exterior locations.
Garage doors, service doors, and unscreened windows should be kept closed, especially from dusk through the night. An open garage provides an opportunity for a bat to enter even after the rest of the home has been professionally sealed.
Window-mounted air conditioners and other items installed through an exterior opening should be properly sealed whenever they are installed. Home repairs, remodeling, roofing, siding work, new vents, or other alterations can also create new openings that were not present when the original bat-proofing service was completed.
Finding bat droppings on a porch, deck, steps, siding, or other exterior surface does not necessarily indicate that bats have re-entered the structure. Bats naturally feed and temporarily rest around homes, so exterior droppings may continue to appear even after a successful exclusion.
